Un po di approfondimenti:
AQ Interactive today announced two high profile DS projects, Blue Dragon DS and AWAY: Tsuresareta Hitobito. As the first title suggests, the former will be related to Microsoft's Xbox 360 RPG Blue Dragon. The new game will inherit its setting from the original Blue Dragon. Like the original next generation release, the DS title is produced by Hironobu Sakaguchi's Mistwalker. Development is handled by Feel Plus, the developers of the upcoming Xbox 360 RPG Lost Odyssey. Blue Dragon DS will be available in Japan sometime in March 2008 for 5,980 yen ($51.85 US). AWAY: Tsuresareta Hitobito is an RPG being developed by Artoon, which has already worked on Blue Dragon together with Sakaguchi. The Mistwalker president has written the scenario for AWAY. The soundtrack is composed by Nobuo Uematsu. Artoon president Ooshima is serving as the game's character designer. AWAY: Tsuresareta Hitobito will be released in Japan on January 31st 2008 for 5,980 yen ($51.85 US). ---------------------------------- Some new tidbits regarding the trio of Kingdom Hearts games announced at Tokyo Game Show last week have appeared in Japanese magazines. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days for DS will let players assume control over Roxas and tell his story until his split from Organization XIII. The multi-player mode supporting up to four characters will not be related to the game's main story mode. The cellphone-based Kingdom Hearts Coded will be an RPG. Its story will take place after the events of Kingdom Hearts II and apparently center around deleting a bug inside a computer system. Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep for PlayStation Portable will be a prequel to the original Kingdom Hearts. This action RPG will feature three protagonists including Tera and Wen. Square Enix promises to make use of PlayStation Portable's ad-hoc WiFi capabilities. Sadly however, PlayStation Portable users probably will have to wait quite some time until they get their hands on Birth by Sleep. Square Enix has mentioned that it will be the last of the three titles to get released. Kingdom Hearts Coded, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep have yet to receive official release dates in Japan. |

Sekaiju no Meikyu 2 - The Royal Grail (DS/Atlus/Coming this Winter) - New classes: Doctor Magnus and Gunner. The Magnus is sounds like a combat mage, which has healing properties as well as offense boosts from studying the body. The Gunner can use various elemental bullets. - There are now pets that follow and aid you in the adventure. - Existing jobs will have brain new artwork. - Battles will be much more visually exciting. - FOEs will have new rules and new types. - The director is Komori (the writer of EO1, Devil Summoner PS2 and Princess Crown), and she says they decided to make a sequel when they looked into the template and realized they could improve the balance of the calculations and skills, as well as brushing up the existing formula. - There are two settings this time: the Sekaiju as well as the flying castle. - You can create a total of 30 charcters this time. - They have added a quicksave function for saving in the middle of dungeons. (YAY) - For map creation, there are now 3 different colors you can use. - There are also more icons and arrows to use. - When buying equipment now, the character status is displayed so you can see how effective they are before buying. Reviews: Arcana Heart - 7/6/7/6 SuchiPai4 - 8/7/6/5 Lair - 9/7/8/9 Operation Darkness review - 6/6/6/5 PGR4 - 9/8/8/8 For Operation Darkness, Famitsu sez: - Graphics suck donkey nuts - Highly strategic, battle tempo is good - The game is pretty tough, without using the game's cover and ambush systems properly it can be extremely hard to win - Camera and minimap are kinda dodgy - The worldview is a good mixture of fantasy and historical settings - The game systems involved in developing your characters are rather hard to understand - The game isn't very cinematic and the presentation is a little dull |

Nuove info per FF4 DS (praticamente un altro gioco.. °_°):
-------------------------- We're adding a new system to the remake, whereby it is possible to receive the special ability of other characters. Before, it wasn't possible to combine abilities but now you can play with them however you want. FF4's story is often propelled by the self-sacrifice of the characters. But when they were gone, so were their abilities. So to explain how we came up with this, it should be understood that the most important aspect of FF4 is the scenarios and events, and you can be sure that we'd like to maintain the flow of the SFC edition. The party replacement system in the GBA edition was a bit odd, allowing you to change up the last party members with those that had died! Changing the story should be a more delicate matter. We tried to give you the same freedom by changing the party member replacement option to this new system. In other words, there were repeated arguments in the team, and the result was the birth of this new system. About the balance of FF4... We need to make some difficulty adjustments because the game has such a following. In battles (bosses especially) you would search for the weakpoint and attack it, without much trouble. In the remake, the original development members consulted one another and have added the boss AI Arrangement. Because the previous versions of FF4 are becoming a bit oldhat, if the game didn't present a new challenge you'd probably be disappointed... For example, take a look at the Ant Lion which appeared even in the TGS demo. His eyes change color, indicating his counter attack type (usual attack <=> magical attack)! ![]() News FFIV DS (ff4 blog): ------------------------ The Feeling of Traveling the World! We modified the top illustration for the development column. We figured it would make you happy if we changed it once a month! Along with this image, its time to introduce the art director, Airi Yoshioka. As the art director, other than doing image illustration, one must also take charge of background work. Yoshioka has worked on Saga 2, FF9, FF12, and Seiken Densetsu 4, in which she did monster design for the first time, as well as illustrations. I got her to do a doodle for us! (Asano) Yoshitaka Amano's artwork presents an image that is as clear as the blue sky. We're happy to remain true to his ideas, so we take them into consideration when doing the remake. The fact that you are traveling the world must also be represented in the design work. Not long ago in game production, it was common to use the same tile patterns due to problems with capacity. Then, no matter where you go in the world, it has the same atmosphere don't you think? Because of the fact we've got towns and castles as settings, you'd think they might all look the same! But we're trying to make each one unique. For example, take Damcyan which is a commercial nation in the desert. It has adopted the feeling and pattern of a Middle Eastern flair. Eblan, on the other hand, has a basic Asian feel. Just the color and taste of the material should suggest the feeling of a Ninja residence, you see? When the development team thinks of a player simply walking through these places and not being moved (because the feeling of strangeness and "new" is now gone from the original), we feel we must start from the ground up and adjust every last detail!
