Oggi ho scelto questo brano, un po' fuori dal mio genere preferito, perchè sono in partenza per le vacanze estive e sono da un lato felice perchè me ne vado al mare ( )... dall'altro decisamente triste perchè mi allontano dalla morosa e da voi ( )... e quella che posto oggi è una canzone che da un lato mi dà una carica impressionante quando la ascolto, dall'altro mi mette un po' di malinconia, dunque è ideale per descrivere il mio attuale stato d'animo...

PS: buone vacanze a tutti, ci si rilegge da queste parti il 9 Settembre.

Eccoci al terzo lavoro del bluesman di Niafunkè (Mali), un'altra genialissima scoperta del grande Ry Cooder. La traccia proposta si discosta leggermente dal sound generale dell'album perchè predominano i suoni orientaleggianti, che nelle altre canzoni influenzano solo un poco l'atmosfera. Una tdg d'effetto, comunque, adatta per essere ascoltata in un casbah o in una vasca da bagno alla Porta D'Oriente. Veramente preziosa.

Ne ha passate veramente tante, 'sta ragazza qua. Eterna rivale di Dolores O'Riordan, molto meno popolare di lei (per lo meno in questi anni) ma molto più apprezzata soprattutto in Irlanda. Una voce potente, canzoni apprezzabilissime, un sound vagamente rock celtico...io la ritengo straordinaria.
La tdg è Nothin' Compares 2 U (ahhh lo slang), che è la più famosa e la più apprezzata di questa ragazza ribelle...da segnalare anche una cover di "Don't cry for me Argentina" contenuta nel disco consigliato, che è un greatest hits e quindi maggiormente utile a chi volesse avvicinarsi all'artista.
