Solo una precisazione

Dopo averne parlato con Disarm (VOGLIO LA FOTO DELLA PANETTIERA! ), ho scoperto che il brano presente nell'O.S.T. del classico Trainspotting è una cover quasi identica di "Atomic" dei mitici Blondie, reinterpretata da questo gruppo londinese, gli Slepper, la cui voce della cantante si avvicina molto a quella Debbie Harry

Naturalmente vi consiglio vivamente anche il brano originale, di fine 79', tratto dall'album "Eat to the Beat", in stile prettamente new-wave

Un po' metallici, un po' elettrici, i Garbage mi sono subito piaciuti per le loro sonorità grintose ma anche per le canzoni più lente e per la voce di Shirley Manson, che, benchè non sia una gnocca stratosferica, ritengo molto sensuale.
In particolare Push it è la canzone che ascolto in quelle situazioni nelle quali ho bisogno di darmi la carica, quando c'è bisogno di un scossa.
Peccato per lo scivolone preso dalla band scozzese con Beautifulgarbage nel 2001, album a mio parere per nulla all'altezza dei precedenti due (Version 2.0 e Garbage).
Speriamo solo che la band torni in forma al più presto dopo le voci girate su un loro possibile scioglimento.

Una delle creazioni più interessanti dei "non ultimissimi" Hybrid. Mike Truman, Chris Healings & Lee Mullins son riusciti, con questa traccia, a creare un'atmosfera estremamente rilassante, melodica, piacevole. Ideale per situazioni tranquille, o dopo una giornata di lavoro interminabile, o anche per chi, come me, ama abbinare la chill out / elettronica al sex. Consigliata, così come tutto l'ultimo album (Morning Sci-Fi), agli appassionati del genere che vogliono ampliare la propria musicoteca.

Forse nessuno sa che amo anche qualche brano degli Oasis (per la felicità di Kyjorkx ), uno di questi è "Sunday Morning Call".

Ho fatto caso che apprezzo molto di più la voce calda di Noel Gallagher rispetto a quella del fratello Liam... e inoltre ho un bel ricordo di questa canzone quando usci 4 anni fa.

Ebbene sì, quel simpaticone di Tommy Vee (al secolo Tommaso Vianello, gli accaniti del GF se lo ricorderanno ) ha realizzato per quest'estate una produzione veramente carina, riprendendo il motivo de "La serenissima" di Rondò Veneziano ( ) e trasformandolo, grazie alla collaborazione di diversi artisti tra cui spiccano i nomi di Moltosugo ("Activate" è uno dei pezzi house più belli di tutti i tempi, imho, realizzato proprio da Frankie Tamburo & Mauro Ferrucci, ovvero Moltosugo) e di Ce Ce Rogers, bellissima voce la sua.

Ne è venuto fuori un successo notevole e molto ascoltabile, a mio avviso. Immancabile in una serata di musica commerciale "piacevole".

Che bell'album questo dei Kings of Convenience; oltre all'arcinota "Misread" esistono anche le altre tracce che sono estremamente piacevoli da ascoltare, tra cui "I'd rather dance with you", segnalata in precedenza dal buon Matt, e questa da me proposta oggi. Tutto l'album è molto acustico e piacevole, melodico e particolare, direi raffinato. Del resto Eirik Glambek Bøe & Erlend Øye non sono nomi da quattro soldi, anzi tutt'altro (vero Matt? )... il prodotto è di grande qualità, a mio parere. Complimenti ai KoC.

Quando la genialità si trasforma in musica, ciò che ne vien fuori è sempre qualcosa di notevole. Questo album diciamo di "presentazione" di Cassius (nome d'arte per Hubert "Boom Bass" Blanc-Francard & Philippe "Zdar" Cerboneschi) non ha riscosso un successo notevole come invece è stato per "Au reve", che è indubbiamente un progetto più maturo e meno "grezzo". Ma anche in "1999" ci sono svariate tracce da ricordare, tra cui questa che segnalo oggi, ma anche le varie "1999", "Feelin' for you", e chi più ne ha più ne metta.

Musica da ballare, con ampie contaminazioni elettroniche e sonorità Daftpunkeggianti nello stile.
