The Girl and the Robot è un particolare action adventure che vede protagonista una strana coppia, composta da una ragazza e da un robot, come dice il titolo, alle prese con varie sfide poste dal level design che ricorda alquanto ICO, sia come struttura che come stile. Gli sviluppatori menzionano infatto il gioco di Ueda tra le fonti di ispirazione, insieme anche a Zelda: Ocarina of Time e le produzioni dello Studio Ghibli per quanto riguarda stile grafico e atmosfere.
