Oltre alle varie novità presentate nel corso della serata, i Video Game Awards 2012 di Spike TV hanno ovviamente anche assegnato i premi in tutte le varie categorie previste.

Facciamo dunque un riassunto sugli awards vinti questa notte durante la serata di gala dell'industria videoludica, riportando qua sotto chi ha vinto cosa e perché, ricordando che la giuria che ha effettuato le candidature, tutta americana, era composta da giornalisti tratti da Entertainment Weekly, Game Informer, Joystiq, Kotaku, Polygon, IGN, GameTrailers, Gamespot, Wired.com, USA Today e The Associated Press. Tra le varie premiazioni spicca il "Game of the Year" che un po' a sorpresa è andato all'ottima serie di avventure The Walking Dead, cosa che ha portato Telltale a ottenere il premio come "Studio of the Year", un riconoscimento non da poco per il team in questione.
