Nintendo può essere davvero soddisfatta del suo E3 2017. Dopo aver convinto tutti con i suoi annunci, arrivano i Game Critics Awards 2017 a coronare il successo della sua proposta. Secondo i trentotto siti chiamati a giudicare l'edizione di quest'anno, il miglio gioco della fiera è stato Super Mario Odyssey, che vince altri due premi, seguito da Mario + Rabbids: Battle Kingdom, che ha ottenuto il riconoscimento come gioco più originale.
In totale Nintendo è il publisher che ha vinto di più, mentre PlayStation 4 è la piattaforma con più giochi premiati (sei), nonostante un calo enorme rispetto alle edizioni passate (-4 da quella 2016, -6 da quella 2015).
