Don't Starve Together è un'espansione standalone di Don't Starve che, come suggerisce il titolo, aggiunge la modalità multiplayer alla struttura di base del gioco.

Il titolo resta dunque un survival con ambientazione dark-umoristica ma le meccaniche classiche di Don't Starve vengono qui arricchite dall'aggiunta di un secondo giocatore, che modifica dunque il bilanciamento generale e aggiunge nuove situazioni al gameplay.
