Media Create ha pubblicato le tradizionali classifiche di vendita software e hardware per il mercato nipponico dei videogiochi, in particolare per quanto riguarda la settimana compresa tra il 30 giugno e il 6 luglio 2014.
In cima alla classifica si piazza Freedom Wars per PlayStation Vita, seguito da Youkai Watch per Nintendo 3DS, Taiko Drum Master per Nintendo 3DS, Mario Kart 8 per Wii U e Watch Dogs su PlayStation 4. Avvio deludente per Akiba's Trip 2 per PlayStation 4, piazzatosi solo alla posizione 17. Anche dal punto di vista hardware si conferma il trend imperante in Giappone, con i portatili protagonisti assoluti e una PlayStation 4 che, a differenza dei mercato occidentali, non riesce ancora ad incidere in patria, vendendo un terzo di Nintendo 3DS e piazzandosi dietro a Wii U, trascinata ancora da Mario Kart 8.
