Non saltate sulle sedie, Quake Live resta gratuito. O almeno, pagare non sarà obbligatorio, ma per chi volesse accedere ad una serie di opzioni in più si prevedono dei piani di abbonamento Premium e Pro. I due piani verranno offerti a 24$ e 48$ rispettivamente e permetteranno di accedere a mappe aggiuntive, modalità di gioco nuove, varie opzioni in più per i clan, i server e così via. Il tutto non va ad incidere sui contenuti "classici" finora gratuiti, che tali resteranno anche in futuro. Si tratta per l'appunto di un qualcosa in più offerto ai fan del gioco ancora attivi.
