Una serie di statistiche relative all'utilizzo di Mass Effect 2 e delle scelte effettuate dagli utenti hanno evidenziato come la stragrande maggioranza dei giocatori abbiano scelto di creare il proprio Shepard dandogli sembianze maschili e giocando la classe soldato. Fra le altre curiosità interessanti notiamo che Archangel è il membro della squadra più frequentemente scelto per le missioni, che solo il 50% dei giocatori ha aggiornato completamente la nave prima della fine del gioco e che sempre circa il 50% ha importato un salvataggio dal primo Mass Effect. Interessante notare che il 15% delle conversazioni sono state saltate e che appena la metà dei giocatori ha terminato il gioco.
