Dopo l'annuncio della data per l'evento VGX, ovvero quello che fino all'anno scorso si chiamava VGA, fissato per il 7 dicembre 2013, arrivano anche le candidature ai premi.
Tra i titoli più in vista risultano soprattutto BioShock Infinite e Grand Theft Auto V, ma anche The Last of Us, Super Mario 3D World e Tomb Raider tutti candidati al maggiore premio, ovvero Game of the Year, mentre in proiezione futura i più attesi dai fan risultano Titanfall, Destiny, The Witcher 3 ed altri.
